Adventures and getaways on our waterways : numerous rivers cross the county of Eure. Its two main waterways, the Seine and the Eure, plus their main tributaries, the Iton, Avre and Risle, run for c.1,350km through the county. Tackling these rivers by canoe allows you to (re)discover magnificent landscapes and enjoy original perspectives quite different from those to be enjoyed from the riverbank. Being in such riverine settings awakens the senses as you bird-watch, listen to the wind playing in the trees, dip your hands into the cold water, or scent the flowers as you glide along. Enjoy a different angle on life, out on the Eure’s rivers!
Canoeing isn’t the only water-based activity allowing you to contemplate the county from a different angle. At the Base de loisirs de Léry-Poses, an outdoor leisure centre, hire boats or catamarans to go sailing on one of the four lakes here, providing great feelings of well-being.
Having fun on the water : around the Eure, there are many sporting and nautical possibilities available. Whether you want to sample something new or to perfect your skills, try your hand at exhilarating sports such as water-skiing and wakeboarding or making use of a water-skiing lift. At Ezylake at Ézy-sur-Eure, relish joyous times on boat-towed giant rings; the sole aim is to be the last person to fall off! As to the Base de Léry-Poses, this outdoor leisure centre boasts a surfing wave machine, adding to the range of water sports on offer. If after a ‘‘calmer’’ activity, opt for paddle-boarding or windsurfing!
Relaxing in or on the water : water sports not your cup of tea? Then find ways to relax in or on the water. Go bathing, with lifeguards supervising, or take a trip out on a pedalo on the lake at the outdoor leisure centre at Mesnils-sur-Iton. In short, around the Eure, there are many supervised water-based leisure activities you can take advantage of, safely, enjoying your adventure with family or friends
